Robert Darnton, Harvard University’s Emeritus Library Director was at Koç University

Suna Kıraç Library & Koç University Press participated in the 52nd Library Week with the session titled ‘Cultural History and Libraries: The Past and the Future’. Robert Darnton who is an American cultural historian and academic librarian held a great presentation on books, libraries and the digital future, also he signed his new book The Great Cat Massacre and Other Episodes in French Cultural History for the audience.

DVDs are Now Organized on Shelf by Call Number !

From now on you can find DVDs much more easily on the shelf. During the Spring Break, we arranged our DVDs according to the Library of Congress Classification System and now they are ordered by their call numbers like the rest of the book collection.

Don’t forget to note LC call number to find the movie that you want to watch.

Three Archival Collections From VEKAM Now Accesible from SKL Digital Collections Platform

Ankara Map and Plan ArchiveThe administrative, political and geographical position of Ankara and its surroundings from early times to the present day can be seen through the maps in this collection.

Ankara Vineyard House Collection The collection is formed of ethnographic works on everyday life which reflect the tradition of “vineyard house living”, whose spatial and social attributes form an indivisible part of the culture of 19th century and early 20th century Ankara.

Ankara Photograph, Postcard and Engraving Collection This collection shines a light on pre-1900s Ankara, with rare print engravings of Ankara from that time, as well as photographs and postcards from 1900-1980 tracking the architecture and the social and cultural development of the city.


Tips and Tricks — Scopus

Scopus indexes over 120,000 book titles; and, by using the tool in Scopus in tandem with searching book content, you can gain a powerful way of discovering key influencers and uncovering important trends.
